Liu Silin (CN, 1990) lives and works in Beijing. She graduated with a BA in the Photography Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. In 2016, she got a MFA in the Photography Department of Tsinghua University Fine Art College. Her work is a reflection on the societal problems of the contemporary era covering subject matter from personal social networking activities to international political events.
In 2015, Liu Silin was shortlisted in the reGeneration3 exhibition and publication project of the Musée de l‘Élysée in Switzerland. Same year she was also shortlisted to be part of the “TOP20” Chinese Pioneering Contemporary Photographers. In 2016, Liu Silin holds her first solo exhibition The Artist Is Online at Yangtze River Museum of Contemporary Art. Most recently, her solo project I’m everywhere received the Jimei x Arles International Photography Discovery Award in 2016, and was exhibited at the Rencontres d’Arles in 2017.
