BIO: Karolina Wojtas ( b. 1996) is a Polish artist who gets inspiration from random objects, children’s fantasies and her own childhood memories. By creating a colorful world of experiment and endless fun, she transforms this material into walk-in installations. Her typical exhibition is impossible to miss. You can feel like a child – play, search and get lost.
Wojtas graduated from Lodz Film School in Poland and the Institute of Creative Photography in Czech Republic.
Her works has been exhibited at many individual and collective exhibitions in both Poland and abroad: FOTO ARSENAL WIEN (2023), Foam Amsterdam (2021), MNAC - Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea (2023), C/O Berlin (2023), the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (2022), Fotogalleri Vasli Souza (2022), Paris Photo (2021) and the Beijing 1+1 Art Center (2017).
She has been recognized with awards and nominations a numerous times, including: KTR 2023 golden sword in the craft category - photography, Nomination for the EMoP Arendt Award 2023, reGeneration 4: The Challenges of Photography and its Museum for Tomorrow in Muse de l'Elyse., Special mention at Plat(f)orm 2020 at Fotomuseum Winterthur, Winning the C/O Berlin Talent Award (2022), ING Unseen Talent Award Amsterdam (2019), Tiff Open at Tiff Festival Wrocław (2018), and ShowOFF month fotografia in Krakow (2017).
